Taking your creative ideas to reality

Taking your creative ideas to reality

How do some people’s ideas become a reality for them and for other people an idea comes up but never gets acted upon
Everyone is creative but the people who take their creativity to a product or business are clever.
According to Stacey Rasfield creator of “Choose your Muse” creativity workshops clever people have the resourcefulness to take their creativity to a new level.

Here are 5 approaches to making your ideas happen:

1. Find Downtime
Make sure you create downtime for yourself. Being continually busy with no breaks or relaxation does not allow the brain to make the connections it needs to get your ideas to fruition.
Have you ever had an “Ah Hah” moment when you came up with a great idea? You were probably at rest mentally when that happened. You previously put the spark of creativity in your head and the brain took over and made the connections later when you weren’t forcing it.

2. Stretch Your Mind
Practice taking an everyday item and think of at least five different ways to use it.
This will open your mind to other possibilities

3. Develop a One-a-Day Habit
Take at least one action a day that furthers your goal. You could do research on your idea on the internet. You could speak with a mentor or someone who has accomplished something like what you want to do. Draw sketches of a product you are creating. You could also write marketing slogans for that product or service.

4. Keep Trying
Tell yourself failure is not an option. When an idea doesn’t make it, think of it as a practice run. How long did Colonel Sanders take his recipe on the road? How old was he then? By the end of his career he had traveled over 250,000 miles across the country. He was 62 when he took his recipe on the road.

5. Don’t Set Limits
Expand your options. Put a “why not” list together where you write scenarios based on your wildest dreams. What if money were no object? Read a few books that help you get rid of limiting thoughts. “The Power of Mindful Learning” “Refuse to Choose: A Revolutionary Program for Doing Everything You Love” check out the website www.innovationtools.com for brainstorming tips
