What about Retirement
One of Life’s Transitions that is becoming more and more publicized is Retirement.
The Baby Boomers are beginning retirement and that is the largest generation ever. So Retirement will be an important life transition for years to come.
But retirement isn’t what it used to be either.
For one thing, unlike retirees of the past, retirement age doesn’t mean we only have 10 years or less for retirement before we die. We are all healthier and living longer so now retirement can go on for closer to 25 to 30 years.
The other thing is that there are less retirees who have enough money saved from a retirement program or investments to live off the rest of their life because their company didn’t have a retirement program or not much of one or they had their own business with little savings. And as I said before retirees are living longer so the retirement money has to be more.
Because more people in the retirement years will be living longer, good health in these years is a new subject and concern.
These differences from retirees of the past are issues for those about to make the life transition of retirement.
How do you plan for family when you might HAVE TO retire from your job when you financially may not be ready for it?
Or if you have enough money for retirement -what do you do with your time when you quit working?
How do you plan for good health and health coverage?
Do you get a new career? Do you begin a business? Do you downsize your lifestyle?
These can be obstacles to your happy retirement. But you truly do have the answers yourself.
